Automatic X-ray Inspection

Automatic X-ray Inspection (AXI) is an optical test process. X-ray inspections are similar to AOI systems, but instead of light, X-rays are used to scan the components. Internal structures such as contacts, solder bridges, solder discharges, offsets or defective solder joints can be detected in this way. Short circuits under metallized housings are difficult to detect with this method.
